Australian Group Handbook

The AA Group — the heart of the Fellowship

At the heart of Alcoholics Anonymous is the AA group. AA is shaped by the collective conscience of its groups, not by central authority, with responsibility and decision-making resting at group level.

The Australian Group Handbook brings together shared experience to support groups in carrying the message, practising unity, and conducting group affairs in line with the Twelve Steps, Twelve Traditions and Twelve Concepts.

The Handbook is currently available as a downloadable PDF only and is under review. This version contains Australian material © 1965 and was revised in 2021.
