Online meetings and digital platforms have become a normal part of AA. They’ve opened up new ways to connect — whether that’s joining a meeting from home, travelling, or reaching out for the first time. With that has come a bit of a learning curve too.
A new section in the safeguarging policy — “Safety in the Digital Age” — brings together some shared experience from across the Fellowship about what’s been helpful when it comes to staying safe and protecting anonymity online.
It touches on things like:
- how people choose to present themselves in meetings
- being mindful of what’s visible or shared
- navigating contact with others outside meetings
- and some practical approaches groups have taken to keep meetings running smoothly
For many of us, these things come naturally over time. This information is simply there to help put some of that experience in one place.
