What Does a Regional Trustee Do?

What Is a Regional Trustee?

A Regional Trustee is a trusted servant who represents a Region on the General Service Board of Alcoholics Anonymous Australia.

They help bring the experience and perspective of their Region into discussions that support AA as a whole.

How the Regional Trustee Supports AA

Regional Trustees help ensure that the voice of the Fellowship is reflected in the work of the Board.

This often includes:

  • sharing the experience and needs of their Region
  • contributing to discussions about AA services nationally
  • helping maintain communication between the Board and Areas
  • supporting unity across AA

Carrying the Message Through Service

Regional Trustees support the work that helps AA remain available to those who need it.

This includes:

  • helping ensure services are guided by AA’s principles
  • supporting decisions that keep AA accessible and effective
  • sharing experience that reflects the Fellowship as a whole

The role is grounded in service and guided by group conscience.

How the Regional Trustee Fits into AA

Regional Trustees are part of the link between Areas and the General Service Board.

Through this connection:

  • Areas share their experience through Delegates and Regions
  • Regional Trustees bring that experience into Board discussions
  • the Board supports services on behalf of the Fellowship

This helps ensure that AA’s services remain connected to the Groups they serve.
